Nowhere else on Earth drops from subtropical valley to high desert within a day's walk. The Annapurna region packs the classic Circuit, the Sanctuary amphitheatre, and the friendliest short treks in the country — Poon Hill's sunrise among them.
It is also Nepal's most flexible region: gentle family routes, a road-free circuit variant over Thorong La, and natural hot springs to soak in after the pass.
